Workshops In Detail

Workshop 1: Introduction to Seeing Photography Principles
We'll start with a slideshow and talk about the principles of colour, texture and pattern. This is the place to start if you want to take really great photographs. It is the art of seeing, not just knowing how to take a photograph.
We'll then go on a walk with cameras to take photographs that use these principles.
Then back for a show and tell and talk.
This is a must-attend workshop! This, and all workshops will include technical know-how according to your skill level.

We will aim to make a palette of our walk.
This is one from Papua New Guinea.

This is one by kids from School of The Air in Meekatharra.

Light Graffiti!
A fun workshop for kids and adults. Experiment with light-writing.
We'll use lasers and torches to write and paint with light. You can come up with your own wild ideas.
It's a great way to learn about exposure and light at the same time.

You can come along with no equipment and just have fun.
Or bring the following items with you, if you have them:
A tripod or boxes/chairs to put your camera on.
Laser and torch lights.

Here are some of my favourite examples:

Workshop 2: Light from All Angles
Understand the different colours of light, from tungsten, sunlight, shade and how these effect your photographs. We will learn how to photograph a person in all kinds of lighting conditions to get the best result from your camera.

Workshop 3: Technical
We'll make all those manual functions make a bit more sense.
Aperature, Shutter Speed, ISO...
(Or That is how to get blurry backgrounds, lots in focus, fast action.)
You decide! Not the camera...
